What is Sitecore CMS

Sitecore was one of the world’s first content-management platforms to take advantage of the .NET framework that has since become an industry standard.

Note that Sitecore is available in several editions and can as well be deployed on a simple configuration with one web server as on a high traffic topology with multiple staging and live servers.
 
Furthermore, Sitecore products are:

  • 100% compliant with the Worldwide Web Consortium’s (W3C) open Internet standards, for example SOAP (web services) and XML, and are committed to Microsoft .NET technoloy;
  • Sitecore uses and supports the XAML concept;

Sitecore Online Marketing Suite (OMS)

The Sitecore OMS has been released in the summer of 2009 and provides a powerful platform for marketers to optimize the behaviour of the website based on web analytics and visitor insights.

The Online Marketing Suite tracks everything that is happening on the website and gives scores to clicks in order to build up customer segments and profiles. The rules for defining segments and user profiles can be defined and configured within Sitecore without having to use any coding. Using these segments and profiles the user experience of the visitor can be personalized using simple check boxes, slider bars and intuitive rules wizards.

Moreover multivariate testing allows to optimize call-to-actions such as banners, promotions and even layouts and sublayouts. This also proofs to be an excellent means to leverage usability testing.

Individual sessions are tied together with a global cookie so you are presented an integrated picture of each visitor’s profile, history, preferences, and what got them there in the first place.
