What is Ektron?
Ektron is an American company that has provided qualitative yet affordable CMS systems since 1998. Ektron has more than 200 VAR partners worldwide, amongst them The Reference in Belgium. The Reference has achieved the Gold Partner status and has more than 20 implementation references.
Ektron CMS400.NET is the CMS tool within the Ektron portfolio. It is completely based upon the Microsoft .NET platform and offers a documented API. As a database it uses MS SQLServer 2000/2005.
Why use Ektron?
- easy web-based interface for content authors and webmasters;
- Content authors can either use the in-site editing feature or the workarea that provides a hierarchical view on the site. Either way you get access to Ektron's WYSIWYG editor, eWebEditPro(+XML). Via this editor you can edit content in a convenient office-like way.
- Content can either be unstructured (one big HTML text field) or structured as XML.
- Moreover the editor also allows you to create and edit web-based forms.
